Why Do Actors Post Shirtless Pics?

To Prove Miracles Can Happen.
We know him as pudgy airhead Andy Dwyer on NBC's Parks and Recreation  but Chris Pratt posted evidence over the weekend that he can change.Big time.Six months no beer the 34-year-old actor wrote of
his pumped up physique.Kinda douchey to post this but my brother made me.Right Chris. We'll believe that. Pratt is in the shape of his life for the upcoming Marvel film "Guardians of the Galaxy. He also hit the gym for last year's Zero Dark Thirty.
 To Audition.
Zach Braff tweeted this pic with an open question to Channing Tatum asking to be considered for the sequel to Magic Mike. But was Braff serious? After all the normally scrawny 38-year-old actor-directorcrowdfunder does look like he's been hitting the gym.Show off!
To Show Patriotism.
Speaking of Tatum, he's never shy to take his shirt off. This time he posted a shirtless shot from his 2008 Iraq war film Stop Loss in honor of Independence Day (the day, not the movie!). Notice his patriotic tattoo!
To State the Obvious.
The Rock. Getting pumped. As if we needed evidence!? However, it does appear he has achieved the seeming impossible for his upcoming film Hercules: The Thracian Wars by getting EVEN bigger.
To Prove Total Submersion.
Tom Hanks recently toured the mighty USS Montpelier and has the shirtless pic to prove it... with hat!
Sometimes they're simply bored; sometimes they're making a joke; and other times they're proudly displaying the (pectoral) fruits of some hard labor at the gym. See why actors are into posting shirtless pics on social media.
To Show the Apple Doesn't Fall Far.
He's buff. He's acting. He's following his father Arnold Schwarzenegger's footsteps! Patrick Schwarzenegger 19 posted this morning pump pic just a month ago.He also appears in the upcoming comedy Grown Ups 2.
 To Dole Out Trainer Cred.
It's always good for a Hollywood It guy to hit the gym. In this case Shia LaBeouf lifted his shirt in honor of his trainer Peter Quillin (also pictured).

Kate Stoltzfus - Breaking Amish's Kate Stoltzfus In Maxim Magazine

Kate Stoltzfus has stripped down for the new issue of Maxim.
The 'Breaking Amish' star has traded her demure bonnet for a blue bustier and black shorts in the pages of
the men's magazine a radical departure from her prim and proper Amish lifestyle in Pennsylvania.
The reality TV series which debuted on TLC last September  follows a group of youngsters trying to break free of their traditional lives and exploring a more modern lifestyle in New York City  before deciding whether they want to return to their Amish faith.
The aspiring model told Maxim: ''There are definitely a lot of Amish women who have great bodies because they work hard. They also eat really healthy, since they grow their own food. That's one
big thing I miss about home, being able to garden and take care of plants.
The 22-year old brunette now has some modelling experience under her belt and is gradually getting accustomed to the idea of flashing her flesh in photoshoots.
Kate explained: ''Before I had even signed a contract with a modelling agency I did a test shoot to see if I could photograph well and the first outfit they put me in was a bathing suit! I have to admit it was a little intimidating but now I enjoy doing it.
However the reality star still maintains some of her religion's more traditional values especially when it comes to boys.
She added: A guy would have to prove himself to me before I'd bake him something special like my peanut butter blossoms. Most of the time I just make them for my roommates and me.
Kate has since been shunned by her family for opting not to return to the Amish way of life which preaches simple living, plain dress and reluctance to adopt most conveniences of modern technology.

Blip in Federal Wage Data Points To Ripple Effect of Facebook's IPO

It isn't very often that the actions of a single company register in national economic statistics, but Facebook Inc.'s (FB) 2012 initial public offering appears to have hit the mark.
The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics reported last week that the average weekly wage in San Mateo County, Calif., in last year's fourth quarter rose an astounding 107% from a year earlier to 3,240. That's the equivalent of $168,000 a year, and more than 50% higher than for the next-place finisher, New York County (better known as Manhattan), which came in at $2,107 a week, or roughly $110,000 a year.
What's behind the numbers? The Labor Department doesn't discuss specific employers but several clues point to Facebook, which is based in Menlo Park Calif. part of San Mateo County.
The county's wage surge was included in a detailed report on employment and wages for each of the nation's more than 3,000 counties, based on reports filed by employers. Within San Mateo County, the industry that most stands out is what the government labels "computer systems design services.
According to the Labor Department, the roughly 6,200 workers in San Mateo County in that industry group collected total wages of $6.8 billion in the fourth quarter alone. That's an average of $82,891 a week, or roughly 4.3 million a year.
Those weren't regularly weekly paychecks, of course. That's because the department's definition of wages can include bonuses, stock and stock options, according to David Hiles, a supervisory economist there.
That's where Facebook's May 2012 IPO comes in. According to the social network's securities filings, the bulk of restricted stock units that Facebook issued before 2011 vested six months after the IPO, in November 2012. In one filing, Facebook said it withheld and paid taxes of $2.86 billion when those units vested in 2012. In a previous filing, it said it expected to withhold taxes at roughly a 45% rate suggesting the shares were valued at more than $6 billion at the time. Facebook employees also exercised roughly 51 million stock options in the fourth quarter which might have added $1 billion to the "wage" total.
Doug Henton, chief executive of Collaborative Economics, a San Mateo, Calif., consulting firm that has worked with the detailed county reports for more than two decades, agreed that the signs pointed to Facebook as the source of the county's growing wealth. That kind of a jump can only be explained by what's happening with stoc and stock options from recent IPOs Mr. Henton said. "It will be interesting to see if that wealth bump is reflected in giving back to the community.
The Labor Department's Mr. Hiles said the quarterly wage numbers tend to fluctuate, reflecting the payout of bonuses on Wall Street, for example. Prior department reports also have highlighted the impact of corporate mergers and acquisitions.
A Facebook spokeswoman declined to comment.
