Al Qaeda-linked terrorists in Africa

Al Qaeda-linked terrorists in Africa today posted gruesome pictures of a man they said was a French commando killed in a failed operation to rescue a French intelligence agent overnight Friday.
The pictures, released via Twitter by the Somalia-based terror group al-Shabaab, show a white male in a dark blue shirt and camouflage pants surrounded by military gear and weapons.
The shirt is covered in blood and the man appears to be dead. As a caption for one photo that shows the man's crucifix necklace, al-Shabaab tweeted, "A return of the crusades, but the cross could not save him from the sword."

In another tweet, al-Shabaab showed a picture of the man and addressed the French president directly: "Francois Hollande, was it worth it?"
The raid was meant to free "Denis Allex," the pseudonym of an agent of the French foreign intelligence service DGSE who was kidnapped in Somalia in July 2009.
Late Saturday, Hollande acknowledged that two French soldiers had been killed in the operation and that it was likely that Allex was executed by his captors. Hollande offered his condolences to the families of the dead but said the operation "confirms France's determination not to give in to the blackmail of terrorists."
Today al-Shabaab put out a press release claiming it had killed "several" French commandoes, but that Allex was still alive. The group said it had "reached a verdict" on what to do with him and would announce it in coming hours.
French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said Saturday that the raiding party slipped secretly into the area but was met with "very strong resistance" on the ground and "very violent combat ensued." In addition to the French casualties, Le Drian said 17 terrorists were killed.
President Obama revealed Sunday that U.S. military forces had been involved in the mission, providing "limited technical support." Obama was required to notify Congress of the action, since it amounted to a deployment of U.S. military personnel, and released the notification letter to the public. U.S. aircraft "briefly entered Somali airspace to support the rescue operation, if needed," but did not use their weapons, the letter said.

Couple sharing same name have split

The couple who met, fell in love and married over a shared name, have now filed for divorce. Kelly Hildebrandt and Kelly Hildebrandt have gone their separate ways.

The pair with matching names made news when they tied the knot in 2009. But the couple came to realize that sharing a name wasn't enough to keep them together. “She’s a Florida girl, and I’m a Texas guy,” Kelly Carl told Miami news station NBC 6. “We really did come from pretty different worlds.”
The romance started in the same world: Facebook. One night in 2008, Kelly Katrina was curious and bored. Wondering if anyone on the website shared her name, she typed it into the search engine on the social networking site and up popped Kelly Carl.

The then-20-year-old emailed the 24-year-old about the coincidence. Emails led to phone calls, phone calls to visits, and the whirlwind romance led to an engagement ring hidden in a treasure box on a Florida beach. The two wed in 2009, and their news made People magazine and the "Today" show.
But even sharing a name, blond good looks and worldwide attention was not enough to save the marriage. “How do they term it at the courthouse? ‘Irreconcilable differences,' that is what I would say,” added Kelly Carl, who has since returned to his native Texas. “We gave it our best shot.”

Sources say Akshay Kumar is all set to team up with Kat for the Hindi remake of 'Ramana'Almost everybody has a lucky charm in Bollywood. And looks like Akshay Kumar is once again readying to use his.
Buzz is that after doing as many as six films together, Akki will once again work with Katrina Kaif.
The film, a remake of South film Ramana, will be co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shabina Khan. South film director M Raja is slated to helm the Hindi version. The last movie that Akki and Kat did together was Tees Maar Khan (2010) that turned out to be a total box office disaster.A source says, `Akshay and Katrina have been probably the most popular hit pair in recent times with blockbusters like Singh is Kinng, Namaste London and Welcome, amongst others. Interestingly, in spite of them doing back-to-back films, they were hardly linked with each other romantically. However, after the lukewarm response to De Dana Dhan and Tees Maar Khan, they decided to take a break. Akshay moved on with Sonakshi Sinha as his new lucky mascot. The source adds, `The initial talks are already done and the project is expected to go on floors by the end of the year. Shabina and Akshay were keen that the film should have Katrina once again as their fans would love to see them getting back together on the big screen.`Katrina and Shabina remained unavailable for comment.
